Upper Arlington owns and operates the community’s three outdoor swimming pools – Tremont Pool, Devon Pool and the Reed Road Water Park. The pools are open for operation each summer from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Season memberships can be purchased beginning March 7 at 6 am. Daily admission passes are also available.
In the fall, winter and spring, the Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation Department uses the High School Natatorium for Sunday Open Swim.

The Precompetitive Swim Teams will be coached by instructors from SafeSplash Swim School.
- Practices will be from 8:15-8:45 am Monday-Thursday beginning June 11 through July 19.
- Swim team members learn and refine the basic competitive swimming strokes.
- All swim team members must be able to swim one length of the lap lanes without stopping.
- Pre-competitive Swim Team is FREE to all season pass holders.
- Register for Pre-competitive Swim Team with the pool manager.
Swim meets are held at Tremont Pool. Tremont Pool closes at 5 pm on swim meet nights to allow for set-up. Swim meets start promptly at 6 pm. Warm-ups begin at 5:30 pm and end at 5:50 pm.

2018 Swim Lesson Registration opens on March 7th, 2018. Cost per class is $65.
Swim lessons are be taught by the Safe Splash Swim School. Ohio State University Men’s Swimming Coach Bill Wadley and his staff of qualified instructors will offer a comprehensive lesson program that will provide a positive and fun learning environment for your child.
How to register for swim lessons?

First Day Checklist:
- Swimmers must have a swim suit, towel, goggles, and if their hair is longer than chin length we recommend you bring a swim cap
- Make sure to arrive 10-15 minutes on your first day
- Make sure to check-in with the deck supervisor so that they can assist in getting your swimmer
Level 1: Our introduction to water class. We build comfort and confidence in the pool and gain the student’s trust to extend to the rest of the curriculum.
Level 2A: Beginner level class focused on becoming proficient in the fundamental building blocks of swimming, including floating independently.
Level 2B: Independent swimmers find their niche in this class while working on swimming with a pop up breath and safety skills.
Level 3: With a focus on side breathing, our swimmers begin to build basic swimming skills like freestyle and backstroke.
Level 4: Our proficient swimmers begin to refine freestyle and backstroke technique and learn basics of breaststroke.
Level 5: Swimmers refine their technique in freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke. We introduce the fundamentals of butterfly and learn flip terms and diving.
Level 6: This class brings together all 4 competitive swimming strokes and refines starts, turns and diving.
Level 7: We refine the four competitive swimming strokes and begin to focus on distance while maintaining technique.
Level 8: Advanced swimmers focus on distance and technique while building their confidence to compete on a recreational swim team. Competitive strokes are refined to USA swimming standards.
Swimming Sessions: Classes meet Monday-Thursday and feature a 1:4 instructor/student ratio. Cost per class is $65

- In Person: Office hours are 8 am to 5 pm weekdays. An overnight drop-box is available in the parking lot behind the Municipal Services Center.
- Pass Pick-Up: Passes are NOT mailed. Passes may be picked up in person at Devon Pool, Reed Road Water Park, Tremont Pool, or the Northam Park Tennis Courts when those facilities open for the season.
Pass Cards: As a convenience for our customers we moved to a keyfob pass system in 2016. For returning passholders, your key fob that you received since 2016 will be used as your pass. New passholders will be issued one keyfob per pass holder for all Parks & Recreation services (Pool, Tennis, Day Camp). When you register for a pass you will be asked to indicate which location you would like to pick up your new keyfob.

*Guests are limited to four(4) visits per individual per year. Northam Park Tennis is a "no cash" facility. All membership and daily admission fees must be paid by credit card (VISA, Master Card and Discover Card).
In the event of rain, camps and swim lessons will not be canceled. If lightning is spotted by lifeguards, the pool will be evacuated and will partake in a 30 minute delay beginning from the last sighting. Prolonged delays could result in a rescheduling. Camps can meet indoors.
Daily admission is also an option for all three of our outdoor pools. Reed Road Water Park Weekdays – $10 Weekends/Holidays – $12 Children 2 yrs & under FREE. Devon Pool and Tremont Pool Weedays – $5 Weekends/Holidays – $7 Children 2 yrs & under FREE. VISIT ????
Upper Arlington city pools offer both residential and non-residential season passes that are usable for the summer season at all three pool facilities. Prices are less expensive for residents. The cost of passes depends on the family size and prices are available on the Places section of the website; daily admission fees are also available.
Refer to the pool the lessons are taking place – they are the ones in possession of the rosters once lessons have started. The phone numbers for all Upper Arlington pools can be found on each Pool page and at the top of this page. Once lessons are started, we do not give refunds or credits.

Rest periods are on the :45 of each hour and are 15 minutes in length (i.e. from 11:45 am to Noon). All children under the age of 18 years must exit the water and remain away from the side of the pools.

The Upper Arlington Aquatics Division is again offering the Sunday Swim at the Upper Arlington High School Natatorium, 1650 Ridgeview Rd. Located on the corner of Ridgeview and Mt. Holyoke, the entrance to the pool is conveniently located in the Mt. Holyoke Rd parking lot. The Natatorium offers 6 lanes with a 25-yard distance.
Sunday: 1-3 pm
Exclusions: When UA Schools are not in session or the UA Swim Club hosts an age-group swim meet. And these dates: 11/5, 11/26, 12/24, 12/31, 1/7, 2/18, 3/11, 3/18 and 5/13.

An Upper Arlington Season Aquatic Pass holder may purchase a Guest Pass for $100. The Guess Pass allows 20 guest visits to Devon Pool or 10 guest visits to Reed Road Water Park. The pass holder must accompany the guest to the pool for each visit. Good only for the season it is purchased with no refunds for unused visits. Must be purchased at the Parks and Recreation Department or online. Northam Park Tennis Court: Guests are limited to four(4) visits per individual per year.
Season Pass Definitions:
UA Resident - An individual who either lives or works in Upper Arlington. A copy of a utility bill, lease, deed, pay stub or tax record may be requested for verification.
Dependent Children - An unmarried person who is under 24 years of age who is currently living at home. Or a foster child who is currently living in the home, verification may be required.
NEW - Pass Holder ID:
The Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation Department is transitioning from a pass holder card to a pass holder key fob. the key fob will allow a pass holder to use one ID for swimming, tennis and other Parks & Recreation programming. Pass holders may pick up their key fob at the Upper Arlington Parks & Recreation office, Devon Pool, Reed Road Water Park, Northam Tennis Courts or Day Camp.

All pass holders are to have their photo taken for identification purposes either at the Parks and Recreation office, any of the three swimming facilities or the Northam Park Tennis Courts.
All swimming and tennis membership pass sales are final except when hardship criteria can be documented. Requests for Hardship Terminations are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted in writing to the Aquatics and Tennis Manager. Season pass fees may be refunded or issued as a credit voucher are are prorated from the start of the season regardless of use. Requests will not be accepted after August 31. A $5 processing fee is accessed on all hardship requests upon approval.
One or more of the following criteria must be met to qualify for a Hardship Termiation:
- Personal medical condition - provide a physician's statement on the physician's office letterhead stating the medical condition, date of condition and specifics of restrictions.
- Relocation - outside a 25-mile radius of the Municipal Services Center - provide proof of relocation (deed or lease agreement).
- Patron death - provide a copy of Death Certificate or obituary.
Children Under 10 Years:
All children under 10 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by a paying parent or qualified caregiver.
In case of severe weather conditions, the City of Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to limit the use or close swimming facilities and tennis courts. If lightning, thunder or severe weather is in the area, the following procedures will be followed:
- All pool, deck and court areas will be evacuated completely. Patrons must exit the facility and seek shelter for their safety.
- During a National Weather Service severe storm warning the facility will remain closed until the severe storm warning expires.
- The National Weather Service considers a thunderstorm ended 30 minutes after the last thunder and/or lightning. At that time patrons will be allowed to re-enter the facility.
- If the severe weather persists, or weather radar indicates severe weather throughout the day, the Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to close facilities or limit their use.
If the projected high temperature for the day is below 70 degrees the City of Upper Arlington Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to limit the use or close facilities. All three facilities will be closed if the projected high temperature for the day is below 60 degrees.
Refunds are not available to daily admissions during severe weather and unforeseen emergencies. However, rain checks will be issued to a guest who has been at a pool facility less than two (2) hours or at the tennis courts less than one (1) hour. When requesting a rain check the guest must provide a receipt as proof of payment of the daily admission fee.
Reserve your party now! Party dates are available at Tremont Pool on Friday evenings and at Reed Road Water Park on Saturday evenings from 8:15-10:15 pm for your private gathering.
Parties should be booked at least three weeks in advance. Arrange for food service from the concession stand or bring your own.
Pool party fee must be paid when reservation is made. NO ALCOHOL PERMITED Reservation may be canceled 48 hours in advance for an 80% refund; 50% refund if less than 48 hours.

Having a birthday party or neighborhood gathering? Reserve the shelter at Tremont Pool! The shelter is available daily from Noon–2 pm, 3-5 pm and 6-8 pm. Reservation time includes any setup & clean up time. Reservation fee must be paid when reservation is made.
Reservation may be canceled one week in advance for 80% refund; 50% refund if less than one week. If the pool is closed for weather or other reasons at the time of your reservation, the reservation will be rescheduled or refunded in full. NO ALCOHOL PERMITED
